Greetings from Grant 2

reflecting light like the moon - Greetings from Grant 2

Dear friends,

On Sunday morning, I took the well known opening passage from John’s Gospel and talked about three things:

  • Through this passage we are welcomed into the story of God personally.

  • We as the Church are called to be light to the world.

  • God came to us. To be with us, to be close to us.

There are a wide variety of things that we can do to deepen our relationship with God, even in lockdown. God isn’t limited by social distancing like we are. The crucial thing is that we do something rather than nothing.

  • If you are missing singing in Church, why not sing your favourite worship songs and hymns at home.

  • If you’re missing the fellowship and prayer of others, give somebody a call this week and offer or ask to pray with them.

Through this passage we are reminded that as we go about our daily business we are light bearers, candle bearers.

We are like the Moon:

The moon shines, but it does not produce its own light. It reflects the light illuminated onto its surface by the Sun.

The moon shines, but it does not produce its own light. It reflects the light illuminated onto its surface by the Sun.

We are not the source of the light. But God shines through us, and it is He who deserves the glory, not us.

Let us keep shining brightly as stars this week, keeping the light of Christ burning brightly within us, by continuing to pursue God in all that we do.

Love
Grant
